Nevada Water Law has important rules and cases about how water is used in the state. You can look at old and new laws to see how they have changed. This guide was created with help from Judge Schlegelmilch for a Water Law Seminar for Nevada Judges in 2023. The Nevada Supreme Court convened a Commission to Study the Adjudication of Water Law Cases on March 9, 2021, under ADKT 0576. The commission is now chaired by Justice Ron Parraguirre and was formed for the purpose of making recommendations to improve education, training, specialization, timeliness, and efficiency of Nevada’s district courts in the judicial review process of water law cases. There’s also a podcast where Nevada Supreme Court Justice Patricia Lee talks about the Sullivan Decision and how it affects water rules and how water will be managed in Nevada in the future.
