Nevada Citation Quick Reference Guide

To provide patrons with examples of legal citations for Nevada resources.

Nevada Constitution

The Constitution of the State of Nevada is the foundational document of Nevada.

Nevada Revised Statutes

The Nevada Revised Statues is the official state code for Nevada. Michie (LexisNexis) and West publish unofficial versions of the Nevada Revised Statutes, but only the official NRS should be cited. For more information on older versions of the Nevada state code, refer to the Statutory Derivation guide.

Legislative Hearings

The Nevada Legislature conducts committee hearings to discuss proposed bills. Committee meeting minutes are not available before 1965. For more information on how to find committee minutes, please refer to the Legislative History guide.

Session Laws

The Statutes of Nevada are Nevada's session laws.
