Step 1: Access the Session Information
- Go to the session information page.
- Select the relevant legislative session from the list provided.
Step 2: Locate Bill Information
- Under the session details, find the second heading: Bill Information.
- Click the Bill Information link.
- At the top of the next page, click History of Specific Legislation.
Step 3: Search for Your Bill
- Use the search box on the History of Specific Legislation page.
- Select the type of bill you are researching (Assembly or Senate).
- Enter the bill number and click search.
Step 4: Review the Bill History
The search results will include the following details about your bill:
- A brief description of the bill.
- Past hearing information.
- Revisions and the final enrolled language of the bill.
- Dates and details of committee discussions.
Step 5: Access Committee Minutes
Under the Past Hearings section, find hyperlinks to committee minutes provided as PDFs. These documents include detailed records of the committee's discussions and actions regarding the bill.
Important Notes:
- Not all committee minutes and exhibits are available online.
- For instance, 1987 materials are still unavailable online. However, the Law Library has these documents on microfiche for in-person access.
